Yoga Narasimha Temple

Narasingam Yoga Narasimha Temple

Narasingam is a village located 8km from Madurai on the melur road. It is named for the nearby cave temple dedicated to Yoga Narasimha Perumal, at the foot of the Yanamalai hills. This temple construced in 770 A.D. by Madurakavi alies maranakari who was the minister of the Madurai King Parantaka Nedunjeyan. There is front of mandabam. The sculpture of Narasinga Perumal is caved out of hill itself. The temple is a good example of the cave sculpturing of the Pandaya Kingdom.
